Established by the United Nations, the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP), held on 1 October, is an international day that celebrates the contributions, skills, and actions of older people in our communities. The Albert-Eden Local Board celebrates IDOP for a fortnight every year, coordinating a programme highlighting the events, services, and activities available for older people in the area.

This year IDOP Albert-Eden will take place from Mon 23 Sep - Sunday 6 October.

The themes are:
Connection: older people have access to people, places and events that enrich their lives

Community: there is a place for older people in their communities, and the community is better for it

Contribution: the skills and knowledge or older people are showcased, celebrated
